October 10, 2024 (Tokyo, Japan) – Wacom Co., Ltd. announced that it has obtained independent third-party assurance to ensure the reliability of its GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions data.
Wacom recognizes climate change as an important issue in environmental management and in April 2023, it announced its support for the recommendations of the TCFD (Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures). We are conducting business activities that take into account the challenges that climate change poses to the business environment.
As part of such efforts, Wacom has been significantly reducing its GHG emissions by tapping into renewable energy sources at its headquarters building in Kazo city, Saitama prefecture and its branch office in Dusseldorf, Germany. Wacom is also asking suppliers to take action in efforts in reduce CO2 emissions throughout the entire value chain.
Wacom has obtained a third-party independent assurance report from SOCOTEC Certification Japan which carry out a review of GHG emissions data (Scope 1, 2, and 3*1) for fiscal year 2023 (April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024) in accordance with international standard ISO14064-3. This makes it possible for Wacom to disclose data with greater reliability and transparency to stakeholders.

Wacom received a “B” rating for its environmental disclosure in 2023 from CDP, which was higher than the average rating of “C” for the electronics sector and the Asia Pacific region.
