Wacom Hosts “Connected Ink 2024” on November 15-16 Offering More than 20 Programs of Experience and Reflection on Human Creativity, Art, Education and Technology

On October 21, 2024 --- Wacom Co., Ltd. will host “Connected Ink 2024” on November 15 and 16 at Shinjuku Sumitomo Building’s event space, “Sankaku Hiroba,” (co-hosted with Connected Ink Village) Since 2020, the underlying theme has been “Creative Chaos” and this time, we will focus on “Ordinary Days”. The event will be a place to think, express, and explore together through stage sessions, workshops, booth exhibits, and much more.

● Key sessions on Friday, November 15 (Entry starts from 14:30)

(15:30-16:00) Z-kai Corporation, which has developed a learning service using “Handwriting and Digital” and offers it as a tablet course, will introduce its activities.

(16:00-16:30) Under the theme, “Fill your days with AI with Galaxy and S Pen”, Samsung’s presentation will show how users can maximize creativity, productivity, and practicality through the S Pen and Galaxy AI, which is also symbolic of the partnership between the two companies.

(17:30-18:00) Pilot Corporation has been in this event since 2021, and last year saw the launch of Dr. Grip Digital for Wacom (by Wacom). This year, they will further explore the “writing sounds”.

Other sessions include the “Anime System Community”, which was formed in October this year. There will also be a workshop, “Create Your 'Ordinary Days' Keychain” along with many others.

(15:15-15:45) KISEKI Art analyzes the creative process of creating a work of art and the hidden elements that do not appear in the final version from multiple perspectives. It will offer new ways to enjoy arts and the latest developments in KISEKI ART will also be unveiled.

(15:45-16:15) Wacom Yuify, which embeds micro-marks in works to provide “proof of creation” will be releasing its “open beta program” and its features will be introduced.

(18:00-18:30) Two Hollywood animators will reflect on their careers to date, share interesting stories, and present quick drawings under the name, “Ingredient”.

(19:15-19:45) Yoriko Ito, a concept artist active in the Hollywood CG animation industry, will go to the streets of Shinjuku with her friends to draw “An ordinary day in Shinjuku” on the day of the event and introduce it along with a talk.

Z-kai and PILOT are scheduled to hold brief sessions, and there will be a panel talk with game creators from Sankei Digital, as well as a session by Kyoto startup, mui Lab, which proposes a “Future Lifestyle” where people, nature, and technology are in harmony, called, “An interface that blends into daily life.” A variety of other sessions are planned.

In addition to the booths from companies such as Z-kai, PILOT, and Lenovo, there will also be events such as “LIMITS Creative Park” a creative experience inspired by LIMITS, the digital art battle and the “Figure x 3D Avatar x physical expression (MINAMOTO Project). Also on display are booths by “Springin'”, an application for easy game creation (Shikumi Design), SIAF (Sapporo International Art Festival) and Ars Electronica. Wacom will also introduce Wacom Bridge, an optimal solution for remote production environment, exhibit works by students of “Wacom Creators College Club” member schools, and present “Drawing with Wacom,” a popular content featuring videos and interviews with professional creators using Wacom products.
