No, devices with Windows 10 and Android operating systems are not compatible with either the Bamboo Fineline, Bamboo Fineline 2 or the original Bamboo Stylus Fineline. However, you can use the Bamboo Smart for a precise and extremely natural writing experience on a number of Windows and Android devices. Visit Wacom.com/comp for more details.
The Bamboo Fineline uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Thanks to the low energy feature of Bluetooth®, the Bamboo Fineline delivers approximately 15 continuous hours of writing time.
When the battery capacity of the Bamboo Fineline reaches approximately 15%, the LED light begins to blink red and you will need to recharge.
Remove the cap at the top end of the stylus.
Insert the USB cable (included in the box) and connect it to a computer or USB charger. The LED light will display solid red while charging. Charging is complete when the LED light turns from red to off, after approximately 2 hours.
Simply twist the barrel of the stylus to turn it on or off. A blue LED light indicates the stylus is on and a red LED light indicates the stylus is off. If the Bamboo Fineline stylus is asleep, touch it to the device screen to turn it on automatically. If you need to pair it with a supporting app, simply press the button. After 10 minutes without use, the Bamboo Fineline turns itself off automatically. If you want to turn it off manually, press and hold the button for 5 seconds. This will also disconnect it from any apps.
The Bamboo Fineline will automatically go into sleep mode after 10-15 seconds, assuming the stylus is not touching your screen. Once in sleep mode, a single full-charge should last approximately 10,000 hours. To wake the Bamboo Fineline from sleep mode, just tap the screen of your device with the tip of the stylus.
To ensure optimal battery performance, the stylus must be turned off while it is not in use.
The technology used in the Bamboo Fineline detects pressure when you press the stylus down onto the screen. Adjusting the pressure influences how the lines appear on the screen. Just like a real pen or pencil on paper, pressing harder makes the line bolder and pressing lighter creates a thinner line. Pressure sensitivity makes your stylus work as naturally as possible. Apps compatible with the Bamboo Fineline 3 have various pen tools that also support pressure sensitivity.
In most compatible apps, you can select from a range of functions that can be assigned to the button. For example, in Bamboo Paper you can choose between "eraser,” "undo," "redo" and "full screen."
The LED lights indicate the status of the Bamboo Fineline, informing about pairing, connecting or a low battery. There are two colors—blue and red--and the lights can either be solid or blinking. Here is an overview of what this means in detail:
- When you turn the Bamboo Fineline on, a blue LED blinks twice to indicate that the stylus is on.
- When you turn the Bamboo Fineline off, a red LED blinks twice to indicate that the stylus is off.
- When the battery is low, a red LED will flash.
- While charging, a red LED will be on.
- · Once your stylus is ready, the LED will turn off.
- · When your stylus blinks blue it is in the process of pairing with an app.
- · When the blue light is on your stylus is paired with an app.
You can draw more than 100 km (60 mi) of lines with the Bamboo Fineline on an iPad or iPhone screen. Under most circumstances, the nib will provide months of use, however, if the nib is wearing faster than expected, try using less pressure when writing and drawing. Replacement nibs can be purchased online at the Wacom Store. For accessories and other product options, go to Wacom.com and click on "Store."
For replacement nibs (ACK21801) for the Bamboo Fineline go to Wacom.com and click on Store. This 3-pack of standard, replacement nibs can be used with Bamboo Fineline [CS-610C], Bamboo Fineline 2 [CS-600C1] or Bamboo Stylus Fineline [CS600].
Thin Stylus Nibs (ACK21801) for Bamboo Fineline replaced (ACK22301). This 3-pack of standard, replacement nibs can be used with Bamboo Fineline [CS-610C], Bamboo Fineline 2 [CS-600C1] or Bamboo Stylus fineline [CS600]. Go to Wacom.com and click on Store.
First check that the battery is charged. Next, check that Bluetooth® wireless is enabled on your iPad or iPhone and activated in your stylus. When you hold the stylus with your fingers in the grip area, make sure that the bottom end is in contact with your hand in order to ground it properly.
The Bamboo Fineline must also be paired with a compatible app. Please check www.wacom.com/finelinego for a list of compatible apps, pairing videos and other information. For additional help, visit Wacom.com and click support.
Only Wacom stylus-compatible apps can properly correct this offset, so first ensure that you are using a compatible app and the stylus is paired with it. Check for the blue light to verify that it’s paired. For a list of supporting apps, pairing videos and other information visit www.wacom.com/finelinego.
If you still experience this gap or offset, go to the “Stylus” settings in a compatible app and choose a hand position that fits best. Apps such as Bamboo™ Paper, Noteshelf and Notes Plus support multiple hand positions.
If you are using non-supporting apps, you can minimize this effect by holding the stylus in a more vertical manner or by using your iPad in landscape mode.
Go to “Settings/” app on your iPad or iPhone and disable “Gestures.” However, some apps, especially drawing apps, are multi-touch enabled so they don’t support palm rejection. To prevent your app screen from moving or accidental marks you will want to avoid touching the screen with your hand.
If the blue LED light is off, reconnect to the app by pressing the button. If the LED light is not on and the Bamboo Fineline is not working correctly, reconnect to the app according to the instructions in the Quick Start Guide or www.wacom.com/finelinego.
Depending on the apps you’re using, the Bamboo Fineline may disconnect when you leave the app. If the LED light is off, pair your stylus by pressing the button each time you connect to an app.
When the Bamboo Fineline is paired with an app, the LED light is solid blue. If it is off, pair your stylus by pressing the button.
